IS IT ’94 AGAIN?

On the strength of Michael Del Zotto’s third period goal that held up against the Capitols sealing the win in another game 7 victory: the New York Rangers will face the Atlantic Division-rival Devils in a rematch of the 1994 East finals, won dramatically by New York on Stephane Matteau’s double-overtime goal in Game 7. The Rangers then went on to their first Cup title in 54 years.

Now the stage is set for another showdown with these two clubs, as the Rangers look to make history repeat itself and the Devils seek to avenge that night 18 years ago by destroying a truly great Ranger season.

What could be a better series?

LAKERS SURVIVE AND MOVE ON

LeBron James
They were challenged by the Denver Nuggets and after the 7th game still stood standing. Kobe was a no-show after the stir he created a few days ago.

There are two players I dislike from a personal standpoint, but admire their ability: Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. I would love to see them in a showdown, watch them both suffer from the pressure of their egos and bask in the defeat of at least one of them, since that would happen.

James accepted his third NBA MVP award recently, making him the eighth player to win that many. That is greatness, not even Kobe can claim that.

With greatness comes a certain amount of arrogance, defiance and also power and glory, the problem is it all gets overblown for the great one, and defeat is the greatest equalizer in a team sport.

ARE STILL TRADING WRIGHT?

David Wright
David Wright has made the Mets organization credible, because he is making them competitive! The club all through spring training and the off-season claimed they would be competitive, and no fan believed it. They were setting David Wright up for a trade by July, and then would retreat into the shadows and wait for the season to blow over. It might still happen, but Wright IS carrying the club and they are in the thick of it. They qualify for the playoffs at this rate.

Wright is hitting .402 at this writing, after beating the Marlins 9-3, Wright had a 4-hit day, and is now up in the stratosphere with Ted Williams numbers. How long will this last? Is it all legitimate, or just one hot streak and he will revert to 2010 or 2011 numbers?

That’s all I wrote, folks!
