PELFREY LOOKS READY

PELFREY
Judging by his performance Saturday against the Cardinals, Mike Pelfrey looks to be in mid-season form. Getting smacked all over the lot, giving up one lead after another, I just know Wilpon is happy to see the $5.6 million Pelfrey makes this year will be well, spent.

Mr. Pelfrey to his credit, after how many years in the majors is looking to find himself. Changing his pitching delivery he did find himself, in one jam then another, time after time.

My feeling is he peaked too soon, and from here on in or out or where ever we go from here, it is down hill.

ORANGE JUICED

COACH BOEHEIM
Syracuse got a good squeezing form Ohio State, and waltzed right out of the March madness and tournament play. I was kind of expecting Ohio State to just stay on the bench and wait for the clock to run out by the way the media gushed over Syracuse. Jim Boeheim was just short of the Final Four by one game, and now will probably try to erase the memory of Jared Sullinger from his mind. Too bad, the team had a great run and everyone in the East was looking to see them go to the final dance.

They got Sullinger in foul trouble early, yet couldn’t finish him off, and so the long hot summer starts early in Syracuse.

KNICKS FEEL THEIR PAIN

Jared Jeffries will be sidelined for two weeks as his surgically repaired knee cools down from inflammation that an MRI revealed. Playing like Detroit in Detroit making turnover after turnover, and causing confusion for the local fans, they still managed to beat Detroit.

But there are injuries, nagging injuries and they won’t go away. In the 101-79 rout of the Pistons, Amar’e with a sore lower back and Jeremy Lin with a sore left knee sat out the final quarter.

That’s all I wrote, folks!
