ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

Michael Vick
Looking at the NFL National Conference East, it struck me that the Eagles, with Michael Vick back, have an outside shot of winning their division, or at the least making the playoffs! Like I said, it is an outside shot, but with Vick back, it infuses hope in a team that disappointed greatly this season.

The schedule plays out where 2 of their last 3 games are against division rivals Dallas and Washington, so that makes for an interesting scenario. None of the games should be easy, but the Eagles could pull it out.

Baron Davis
JAMAL CRAWFORD

Turning down the Knicks 2.5 million offer, the Knicks need to look elsewhere for the sixth man from the bench. Can they lure Shawne Williams back? If the Knicks want to be Kings in their court, maybe they should bring on a Baron? (Sorry about that, I just couldn’t help it.) But there is mutual interest between Baron Davis and the Knicks, and if the former all star clears waivers, it makes a nice nice, and maybe they keep Williams too.

IS SAYING BELIEVING?

Andres Torres
The Mets had a conference call yesterday featuring Ramon Ramirez and Andres Torres. Torres said all the right things, but saying is not believing, and if I remember correctly: Ya gotta believe!

UNDER THE RADAR AS THEY SAY

The Yankees remain low-key about the Yu Darvish sweepstakes and you can’t blame them. The Japanese wonder is looking for a lot of Yen, which translates into $$$. Approximately $75 million thank you. Coupled with the $25 Million the Ham Fighters want to allow a signing to be negotiated, you are talking about $100 Million for an unproven major league tryout!

Meanwhile, if you look at the roster the Yankees have, it is virtually untouched. This year it is a little older, some parts are no longer going to work as they did and some are gone, like Jorge Posada. The other concern is if Gunderson will be the same as he was last year, or was that just a oddity. The Yankees didn’t think so before they signed him, and frankly I didn’t think it was a great signing, but I was wrong. But of course the big question becomes A-Rod, is he slipping into mediocrity?
