CAN THE CARDINALS WIN WITHOUT PUJOLS?

If the St. Louis Cardinals don’t repeat this year, it won’t be because of Pujols jumping ship, but because one of the greatest managers of all time: Tony La Russa.  I don’t think they will be able to replace Pujols, and since they did rid themselves of an albatross with his contract, they do have the money to get someone. Is there a Prince to come to the rescue? Meanwhile the Cards should offer Pujol money to La Russa to stay!

A GIANT TASK FOR THOSE COWBOYS!

The New York Giants proved themselves last week against the Green Bay Packers, even though they lost the game. They have a lot to prove again this week. Coach Tom has to save his job, and the weeks ahead don’t look all that great. Another second half collapse is already in process, so he better win with this group, or the whole structure is gone. The Cowboys, seem to be facing the same odds as the Giants, and Ryan’s defense has to prove itself against Manning, who could do it. That is, take his team on a late drive both in the fourth quarter of the game and fourth quarter of the season. Hold on.

‘HOW’D THIS HAPPEN JETS’ ON THE FLY

After the pre-season hype, and the different ‘weapons’ we heard about, the Jets find themselves wondering how they managed to get into a must win situation every week from here on in. The King of Mouths happened to mention Super Bowl, and he usually comes close, however this season a real danger lies in his not reaching the playoffs, and wiping away any credibility he may have had.

Facing Kansas City, an old nemesis: is dangerous this week.

ISLES ON ICE

Or so their winning streak is. Seems we can’t hope for much once again this season as in the past. Forget the Stanley Cup, when will be rise a spot higher than last
