WELCOME TO HOUSTON

Houston Astros baseball is about to take a fall from respectability! A certain 50-year old retired but innocent pitcher is about to make his comeback, comeback from where? From: not retirement so much as the courtroom where he was “Proven innocent”.

Houston is the worst team on the face of the professional baseball earth. They have the worst record, and are in a rebuilding process. But if you look at the rebuilding process, you know that you have to have youth as the key ingredient. It is a lot like building a house. You want the main support to be strong and not filled with doubt. If you pick up a beam and someone said it is rotted inside, you don’t chance it, even if you put it to a test, because you never know.

Why with a youth movement does anyone want a washed-up pitcher who is suspected of using HGH on their team? Is for the mentoring he will do? I doubt that and so does everyone else.

His wife took HGH, his best pal Andy Petite admitted to using it and yet he is found innocent. While we are on technicalities, the Astros will be moving to the American League Central to assume last place in that division. Do they think Roger Clemens is going to give them a leg up on their competition?

Clemens should go away. Some sports writers will vote for him for the Hall of Fame, based on his days before the suspicions when he was great, and he was. But I feel they are hurting the game by voting for this cheat, this liar and fraud. I know there are many players who cheated in the Hall of Fame, and they are well known. The cheaters were throwing an occasional spit ball, maybe cutting the ball, maybe a corked bat, which is what players do. But to cheat to the extent of 24/7 is unacceptable, and should not be recognized.

Clemens by pitching again, will delay his eligibility to enter the Hall, thus building time for sports writers to forget he ever went to trail, ever cheated, and knows people that testified that he did.

That's all I wrote, folks!
