NOW WHAT?

Rex Ryan
One of the worst things that can happen to any kind of team is dessention within the ranks. Form a personal standpoint, I think Rex Ryan has done a great job of recruiting and getting players wanting to come to the Jets to play for him. The problem is that he is too loyal, or blindly loyal to his coaches, and one in particular.

Brian Schottyheimer has been a problem for the Jets and Ryan since last year. The whole issue that is flying around the Jets with Santonio Holmes should not have occurred. My sense is that his quitting on his teammates is indicative of a larger problem, his dissatisfaction with the offensive coach, stemming form last year.

Brian Schottenheimer
The damage is done, and maybe Holmes should go, either on his own or the Jets find a way to send him packing, because any trust from his teammates is gone. No matter how he felt about Schottyheimer, he should have put out his best , he was being paid, he owed his bosses, his coaches and his teammates his best efforts.

Santonio Holmes
Mark Sanchez
As far as Sanchez goes, maybe it is time to reassess his abilities as a leader on the field. The last three weeks have been awful, and he has not performed as a pro. He can be touted as the future, but he let his team down with a bad performance. He finished the season with the worst gain per pass play of all the quarterbacks in the league! He has to be able to carry his team when the chips are down. The last three games he has 9 interceptions! That is horrific, three this past Sunday in a crucial game on check-downs. Three on the safest pass play there is? Compare that to their NY rivals and co-tenants and you see something is very lacking in Mr. Sanchez.

Maybe what happened between Holmes and his displeasure of the playcalling, and in the huddle with teammates, and Sanchez only spirals being his stats, points out that there are big flaws that finally came to the surface, albeit too late.
