HAPPY NEW YEAR!

GROWING PAINS

Teague and Johnson and that’s all she wrote folks! Teague’s 22 and Johnson’s 21 made the Jeff and Joe show something the New Jersey/Brooklyn Nets had wished they had missed.

Meanwhile Deron Williams dropped 23 and rookie Marshon Brooks followed up with 21, but it wasn’t enough for the Nets, as they dropped their third straight 105-98 to the Atlanta Hawks!

After the beating the Nets took from the hands of the Hawks earlier this week, this was a surprise that it was this close. In actuality, it was even closer, as the Nets closed to within only one point in the 4th quarter.

But like all teams, the rookie has to learn and Marshon Brooks showed he is indeed a rookie. With the score 100 – 96 and 21 seconds remaining, and the Nets having no timeouts remaining Brooks tried to make an inbound pass from the left sideline with his teammates covered, but Brooks signaled for a timeout. Their were no more timeouts for the Nets, and they were assessed a technical which put them in a hole that they couldn’t climb out of.

SITTING PRETTY

The NY Rangers sit all alone atop the Atlantic division of the NHL! Alone and convincingly, they beat the Florida Panthers and look like the team to beat. Of course we really won’t know until the Bruins join them on the ice to settle the issue.

Beating the Panthers 4-1 tells you something though. They Rangers are for real, and the Garden looks exciting again once more.

SPEAKING OF WHICH…

Which team will show up when the Knicks play the Kings? After flying high with wins in the Garden, they flew to the West Coast and got shot down. Both the Warriors and Lakers both took aim and reality might be settling in.

COWBOYS AND GIANTS

Big game for the Giants! Their season, division and playoff hopes, let alone their coaches job is on the line.

After a convincing win against the Jets last weekend, they play another emotional intense game once more against the former ‘America’s team’ creating the longest playoff drive in their history, which started last week!

My pick: Giants by 11,

I guess now is the time that really counts, and someone awakened a sleeping giant, or THE SLEEPING GIANTS!

That’s all I wrote folks! Happy New Year!
