TEBOW TAKES A BOW

You’d think it was the second coming of Jesus or the Messiah, the way the NY press has covered the recent pre-season game between the Bengals and the Jets on August 10th! Although the Jets lost the game, it was a meaningless loss, and it doesn’t affect the standings yet, neither is it important that Tebow even completed a pass.

The Jets are smart to not put a whole lot of game plan into the exhibition season as to put a whole lot of testing of plays and roles the individual quarterbacks will have. While Tebow is on his knees on the sidelines, the likes of Shonn Greene and Santonio Holmes have to get into the end zone in order to win. Once Holmes is in the end zone, he should check with coach to see if he should taunt the opposition or not, because he’s too dumb to know when to do it. Nick Mangold has to get over the thought that his baby sister an Olympian weightlifter is stronger than he is and a threat to his job. D’Brickashaw Ferguson will have to stop playing like Lady Ferguson and start hitting. Either he hits or at least gets a real first name! It seems that last year when the Jets would get on a roll, Dustbin Killer Keller would drop the ball and kill the rally! These and other issues plague the Jets and New York.

While we are at it, someone should tell Rex that the Giants own the Jets and New York City and the whole damned NFL this season! Then there are Greg McElroy and Matt ‘No I ain’t no Phil’ Simms, the two backup quarterbacks that probably could take a sabbatical and no one including the coaching staff will notice they are gone.

Do I sound like I’m being too harsh? Let’s face it, last season started on a high note, King Rex still had some currency and even though he hadn’t won or even played in a Super Bowl, his team won, they were competitive right into the final AFC playoff round for two years in a row! Then they played in ’11 and stunk up the universe. First there was unfair criticism of Sanchez the franchise and then the rest of those clowns came apart at the seams. The worst showing of a New York Jet EVER came from Santonio Holmes and his pathetic dance in the end zone after he scored a TD against the Eagles, doing that taunt while his team is being buried, then all the clubhouse drama that followed that TD to the beginning of the training season. The man tried to undermine the team leader in Sanchez, when Sanchez didn’t drop the ball in the end zone, when Sanchez didn’t fail to finish a block or a tackle, when Sanchez didn’t fumble the ball away.

The Jets need to get some pride this year or Rex will be gone.

That’s all I wrote, folks!
